Protest against stone crusher, hot mix plant

POONCH, Nov 29: The residents of Mangnar village in Poonch staged protest today against the establishment of a stone crusher and hot mix plant near the village in Poonch district.
The protest was led by former MLC and BJP leader, Pardeep Sharma, during which traffic movement remained suspended for few hours and protestors termed the establishment of crasher and hot mix plant illegal.
Ex-MLC and other protestors said that they were requesting the authorities not to allow the establishment of crusher and hot mix plant at the village for the last many days. But they did not bother about the pleas of the villagers. They have been forced to come out on the road and stage a protest, Ex-MLC added.
They said that we have already brought into the notice of authorities that there is a school, forest establishment, orphanage, place where our braveheart Army Generals have sacrificed their lives, within the distance of few meters. Therefore, no such activity should be allowed in the nearby area.
They demanded action against those who gave NOC to establish the crusher and hot mix plant at this location.
Meanwhile, DySP Headquarter Poonch, Nawaz Ahmed reached the spot, he showed consent of establishment and withdrawal orders issued by Jammu Kashmir Pollution Control Committee , with the implementation of order issued from DC office Poonch, after which the protest was called off.
