KATHUA, Oct 7: The protest dharna of Civil Society, Kathua against Red category polluted industry entered the 50th day today.
The residents of Hatli Morh near the Industrial Estate, Kathua took out a protest demonstration against the Pollution Control Board (PCB), District Industries Centre Kathua and district administration for their failure to take action to stop the establishment of Red category polluted cement based Klinker Industry to control the pollution in industrial areas.
The members of Civil Society raised slogans and took out protest rally from Hatli Morh and passed through various parts of the town. They were raising slogans against the Red Category Industry going to set up in Industrial Estate Kathua. The protestors Rajesh Mehta condemned the attitude of Administration which failed to stop the construction works of RK Grinding Klinker Unit only on five Kanals of land which required 35 Kanals of land as per Industrial rules and regulations.
He said that our protest dharna has entered 50th day and District Administration had promised to take action within a week but to no avail. He warned that no Red Category Industry will be allowed to establish on the cost of human lives.
