MENDHAR, Feb 11: The villagers from Gursai area held protest demonstration at Phamra Nad on Mendhar-Surankote road against PHE and blocked road for about three hours.
The villagers including woman carrying pitchers and buckets came out on the road at Phamra Nad and sat on dharna on the road. They were raising slogans against the PHE authorities for their failure to provide drinking water to the public. They shouted slogans against AEE and Xen PHE Poonch. They alleged that water supply has been suspended for the last two weeks due to leakage of pipes.
The movement of traffic remained suspended from 10 am to 1 pm. Later, SDPO and Tehsildar Mendhar intervened and on their assurance the road was opened.
