MENDHAR, July 29: Residents of Harni and adjoining areas held strong protest demonstration at Harni town against the PHE and R&B authorities for their failure to restore water supply and road connectivity to about half a dozen villages after massive floods and rains since last Saturday.
Irate villagers of Harni area today came out on the road and started protest demonstration. They raised loud slogans against AEEs, PHE and R&B Mendhar and X-En PHE/ R&B Poonch. They alleged that water supply pipes were broken due to flood on Saturday and a vital bridge connecting half a dozen villages also washed away in flood on this road Saturday. Neither the road connectivity was restored, nor the water supply ensured to the villages since then.
They alleged that no officer of these departments visited the area and tried to restore the services. They alleged that there seems to be no administration, no governance at all. The people have been left to suffer. They also said their children are going to school crossing Harni nallah and no restoration work has been started at the site even after four days. They warned the Administration to act or face the public wrath.
