RAJOURI, Dec 2 : A protect was held at Thannamandi today by the locals against Jal Jeevan/PHE Department as the water supply has been badly hit in the area for the last about two month.
The locals assembled in the town and started protest. They were raising slogans against the local administration and PHE authorities. They said the matter was taken up with concerned authorities several times but no permanent solution was worked out. During public Darbar of DC Rajouri in Thannamandi, it was assured that a permanent arrangements will be made but things did not improve.
Ot has been learnt that a dugwell in Thannamandi was not working properly due to which problem has been developed. After that department started supplying water from a natural resource but the water is supplied to the town twice a week, due to which the public us suffering.
Later, SDM Thannamandi and Tehsildar reached the spot and assured people that water supply will be restored within two days. After assurance from SDM Vikas Dhar the protest was suspended.
