MENDHAR, Apr 22: Beopar Mandal Mendhar today held protest against the Panchayat Department and local administration for non-lifting of garbage heaps from the main market and other lanes and drains of the town.
The traders and shopkeepers led by Beopar Mandal general secretary, Mohd Khursheed came out on the road in the main market today and started protest. They were raising slogans against the Department of Rural Development and Panchayats and the local administration. They alleged that heaps of garbage have been scattered in the entire town for the last over three months. The scattered garbage has gone into the drains, choking them and curtailing the public movement. There is foul smell all around and the public is suffering a lot.
They alleged that the local administration has remained inactive while Panchayat Department has stopped lifting garbage despite the fact that it is charging Rs 50/100 per month from the traders. There is no mechanism of cleanliness in the town and there was every possibility of spreading any epidemic.
