RAJOURI, Feb 14: The people from Bhajwal area held protest against local administration for encroachment of evacuee property and State land in village Lamman for the last 20 years.
They urged the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir for taking action against these officers who couldn’t take any action against land mafia in Sunderbani.
The protest was held under the chairmanship of Naib Sarpanch Subash Chander Sharma along with Saravjeet Sharma, Raju Sharma, former NC leader Sanjeev Kumar Sharma alias Popely, Rakesh Kumar, Mahan Lal, Des Raj Sharma and Chuni Lal Sharma near Shiv Temple, Lamman.
The people said that one person namely Rashid Khatana, son of Kalu Khan from Lamman who came from Rajouri more than 20 years ago, allegedly encroached upon land forcefully including 58 Kanals Custodian land and more than 20 kanals State land with illegal mutations under Khasra numbers 3112 & 3114 in connivance with some Revenue officials. They demanded high level inquiry into the matter and action against Revenue officials involved in the matter.
