POONCH, Jan 13: The people staged protest against a recent Government order regarding anti-encroachment drive on State, Kacharai and Roshni lands, at Suarnkote and Sathra areas in Poonch.
After Friday prayer, protestors in Surankote raised slogans and termed this order unjust to evict the people from land and left them homeless, while protest was also held at Sathra area of Mandi, where people raised voice against the order and said that this order and its implementation will leave them homeless.
Former MLA Surankote, Choudhary Akram speaking to the people during protest said that people have faced militancy, gave lives for the country and now Government wants these people to leave our lands, which is injustice.
Speakers said that they are peaceful people and urge Government to withdraw the order and let us live peacefully.
Meanwhile Imam Jamia Masjid Poonch, Mufti Farooq Hussain Misbahi also spoke against the order during Friday sermon and asked Government to roll back order.
