POONCH, Feb 8: Block Development Council members Mandi held a strong protest against Delimitation Commission’s proposed draft report at Mandi tehsil headquarters in district Poonch today.
The protest rally was taken out from Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Mandir gate to Tehsil complex Mandi where protestors handed over memorandum to Tehsildar Mandi
Pertinent to mention that Delimitation Commission in its proposed draft has shifted two Patwar Halqas from Assembly Constituency Poonch-Haveli to Assembly constituency Surankote which includes Panchayat Arai Haveli, Arai Malkan, Arai Peeran, Bedar and Balnai.
Ex MLA Poonch-Haveli Shah Mohd Tantray (Apni Party), PDP District president and BDC Chairman Shamim Ganai and many Sarpanches and non- political people were present during this protest.
These people said that they were hoping that one Patwar Halqa Mandi which is with Surankote constituency despite no topographic match would be shifted to Haveli but to our surprise they have shifted two more from Haveli.
They claimed to have submitted their objection and hope that Commission will consider this genuine demand.
