Prosecution failure leads to acquittals in dowry death case

JAMMU, Nov 7: Principal Sessions Judge Kathua, Vinod Chatterji Koul today acquitted Vijay Kumar and his mother Soma Devi, who were facing trial in dowry death case, as prosecution failed to prove its case.
After hearing both the sides, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “prosecution has failed to prove that the deceased committed suicide and commission of the suicide by the deceased was abetted by the accused as such charges framed against the accused have not been proved beyond any doubt”.
Accordingly, court acquitted the accused of the charges.
