Proposal to set up ITIs, SDCs in J&K sent to Centre: Minister

JAMMU :  Jammu and Kashmir Government today said the proposals of establishing ITIs and Skill Development Centres (SDC) has been sent to the Central government.
Replying to question asked by MLA Ashok Kumar seeking details on setting up of ITIs and SDCs, Minister of State for Technical Education, Vikar Rasool in his reply in the Legislative Assembly said, “the State Government has submitted a proposal for establishing 150 ITIs and 142 Skill Development Centers to the Centre for approval under Public Private Partnership mode”.
The Minister said the Central Government contemplates to cover the backlog of these institutions during 12th five year plan.
Replying to another question asked by the MLA Abdul Gani Malik, the Minister gave an overview of several schemes under execution for the welfare of BPL families in the state. (AGENCIES)
