UDHAMPUR, Nov 15: In two major actions against narcotics smugglers, Police bulldozed immovable property worth crores of a notorious drug peddler in Chenani while a duplex house worth Rs one crore, approximately, of another narco smuggler was attached by Majalta Police.
Police in coordination with the District Administration, demolished the illegally raised property worth crores belonging to notorious drug peddler Makhan Din, son of Hakim Din at Narsoo, Tehsil Chenani.
Makhan Din is a habitual offender and was found involved in FIR No. 188/2024 of PS Chenani . Due to his persistent involvement in drug trafficking, he was also detained under the PIT NDPS and is currently lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
During investigation, it was found by the IO that Makhan Din had encroached upon state land and constructed 5 commercial properties and 1 residential property worth crores on NH 44 at Narsoo Chenani. Click here to watch video
The illegal property, raised through proceeds of narco trade, was demolished as part of the ongoing crackdown to dismantle the financial infrastructure of drug peddlers in the district.
Meanwhile, during the course of investigation in case FIR No. 71/2025 U/S 8/21/22/27(A)/29 NDPS Act, 111 BNS, registered at Police Station Majalta. it was revealed that the accused Vikramjeet Kumar, son of Sukh Raj, resident of Inderpuri, Gali No. 1, Tehsil & District Amritsar, is in possession of a duplex residential house.
Based on material collected during investigation, the Investigating Officer established that the said property has been acquired from the proceeds of crime generated through narco trade. Accordingly, acting as per mandate of law, the property has been attached under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act for further legal action.
The estimated market value of the duplex house is Rs 1 crore which now stands attached under the provisions of Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act as part of Udhampur Police’s sustained crackdown against narcotics-related offences.
