Property acquired through proceeds of drug trade attached in Shopian

SHOPIAN, Apr 20: A property allegedly acquired through the proceeds of the drug trade was attached by the police in Shopian district today.
A police official said the value of the attached property was around Rs 10 lakh and it belonged to one Showkat Ahmad Dar of Dachoo, Zainapora.
Falling under survey number 62, the property measuring 10 Marlas was identified as having been acquired through proceeds of the drug trade, he said.
The police official added that the action was taken in connection with FIR number 76/2025 registered at Police Station Zainapora.
According to him, the attachment proceedings were carried out in the presence of duly constituted police team, Executive Magistrate, Lambardar and Chowkidar, ensuring full compliance with all legal procedures and maintaining transparency.
