RAJOURI/SOPORE, Dec 27: In a major crackdown on anti-national activities and drug trafficking, Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with district administrations, seized properties of individuals linked to terrorism and narcotics trade in Kotranka (Rajouri) and Sopore.
A police spokesperson said that in Rajouri, police attached properties under Section 88 of the CrPC in connection with FIR 14/2011 registered at Police Station Kandi.

According to him, the seized properties belong to three individuals operating from across the border, who have been identified as Khadim Hussain of Kandi (3 Kanals, 4 Marlas, and 31 Sq Feet), Muneer Hussain of Gakhrote (2 Kanals and 8 Marlas), and Mohammad Shabir of Panjnara (2 Kanals, 2 Marlas, and 253 Sq Feet).
The total seized land measures 7 Kanals and 15 Marlas, valued at approximately Rs 18.5 lakh, he said.
The action followed an order from the Court of Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, Kotranka, added the police official.
In Sopore, he said, police targeted a notorious drug peddler, Ishrat Ahmad Mir of Adipora, by attaching his two-storey residential house worth Rs 17 lakh under the NDPS Act, 1985.
He said the investigations revealed that the house was built using proceeds from narcotics trafficking and was used for illegal activities.
These actions, aimed at depriving criminals of resources derived from illegal activities, have been widely appreciated by the public.
