Promotion of Dogri is must: Sat

JAMMU, Apr 18: Honoring renowned writer Dr. Gian Singh and Singer Deep Sehgal for their contribution in promotion of Dogri language and that too religiously, former State president, BJP and Ex Minister, Sat Sharma (CA) while congratulating the duo on the release of their religious song “Durga Stuti” in Dogri language said that religion and language goes side by side and all must contribute in promotion of the both.
The leader was also accompanied by Mandal president, Raveesh Mengi, Corporator Ward 37 Sunita Gupta, composer Krishan Kumar Johny, Musician Rahul Bhardwaj and many others including local residents and political activists of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that with the efforts of former Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, regional language Dogri was introduced to the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution and now it becomes our duty as well to promote our language so that the younger generation must also learn about the language. He also said that when you go to other States of the country you will see everyone speaking in their regional languages which is a proud thing and we must also focus on spreading awareness amongst everyone especially youth to learn about their regional language.
He also congratulated Singer Deep Sehgal for singing a two hour long song beautifully in Dogri and also congratulated the whole team.
Raveesh and Sunita also lauded the efforts of the team and said that with their efforts our language Dogri will definitely be promoted and they also appealed to the people to try to  converse in Dogri with each other so that more promotion of our language could be done.
Sameer Vohra, Kulbir Singh, Sangeeta Verma, Sanjay Bhat, Sanjay Bakshi, Yash Gupta, Swaran Singh, Neeru Sehgal and Abhishek Sehgal and others were present.
