It is incumbent upon the Government to raise the living standard of people belonging to marginalised sections of the society.
The Government must ensure that all welfare schemes reach these people. It has been observed most of the times that people remain quite ignorant of these policies and do not harvest benefits.
The schemes should be given wide publicity through print and electronic media, besides launching awareness campaigns in villages located in far flung areas. Rather the Government must utilise the services of village lambardars, and panchayats to promote these schemes. The concerned department too should be made accountable for taking these schemes at the doorsteps of these people.
