Projects worth Rs 200 crore approved for Jammu Smart City

JAMMU, Dec 27: Principal Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department (HUDD), Dheeraj Gupta, who is also the chairman of Jammu Smart City Limited (JSCL) chaired 5th Board of Directors (BoD) meeting here today.
Chief Executive Officer of Jammu Smart City, Sushma Chauhan gave a detailed presentation on various projects being undertaken. It was given out that projects amounting to Rs.119 crore are currently under implementation in phase-I whereas projects amounting to Rs 200 crore were approved for phase-2.
The approved projects include road improvement and upgradation projects namely Residency Road, Road from KC Chowk to Dogra Chowk, and core beautification including Heritage Trail and Façade improvement of few Heritage Structures, Multi-level Car Parking and Lighting of Parks and Tawi Bridges, landscaping Projects across the city and web based GIS Application for Municipal Services.
On the occasion, Principal Secretary emphasised to identify new projects in the subsequent phases and asked the JSCL to complete the works which are under implementation in time.
He said the projects under Jammu Smart City would address the issues related to traffic congestion, availability of parking space, revenue generation through Smart Ad panels as well as introduction of Landscaping pattern in the city.
Besides other, the meeting was attended by Mukesh Singh, IGP Jammu, Kumar Rajiv Ranjan Vice Chairman Jammu Development Authority, Pankaj Mangotra Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Satish Kumar Sharma, Additional CEO Jammu Smart City, and Deputy Director Archives and Archaeology.
