JAMMU, June 26: Prof. Satish Raina a renowned educationist and Advisor to former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah breathed his last at New Delhi yesterday due to cardiac arrest.
He is survived by his wife and two sons. His cremation will take place at New Delhi tomorrow. The former Principal of SP College Srinagar, Prof Raina was very close to Sheikh Abdullah family and he was teacher of Dr farooq Abdullah. He stood with family through every thick and thin especially during the days when Sheikh Abdullah was in jail for which he was even tortured by the then regime of late Bakshi Ghumlam Mohammed.
He was also the Chairman of Competent Authority and president of Kashmir Valley Mandir Prabhandak Committee.
Dr Farooq Abdullah has expressed profound grief over the demise of Professor Satish Raina. In his condolence message, Dr Farooq said, “I received the news of Satish Ji’s passing away with utmost grief and pain. He has been my teacher as well.
