JAMMU, May 28: Prof Ranjana Mishra from SNDT University of Mumbai, delivered an extension lecture on the topic “Women Freedom Fighters in Assam: Requires correction in History writing compass”, here today at Directorate of Distance Education in Jammu University.
She talked about Assames women who whole heartedly participated in freedom struggle. Though it is a maternal society, these women still have not found that space which they deserve, she added.
In his presidential remarks, Prof V D Singh, Director Directorate of Distance Education, appreciated and encouraged further research in these areas where women played a crucial role but still are not in the main stream.
Prof Jasbir Singh, Prof Neeru Sharma, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Prof Anita Billowria, Dr Vishav Raksha, Dr Hema Gandotra and faculty members of DDE attended the lecture.
