JAMMU, Nov 17: Professor Rajni Kant of the Department of Physics in Jammu University, has been nominated on the International Union of Crystallography-Indian National Science Academy (IUCr-INSA) National Committee.
Nomination of Prof Rajni Kant to the prestigious body, for a period of four years, has been made on the basis of his contribution in the field of X-ray Crystallography of Small Molecules. The committee shall be responsible to promote crystallography to contribute to the advancement of all aspects of materials science.
The Indian National Science Academy promotes science and its use in India. Nominations/selections to this body are made purely on the basis of scientific contribution of an individual in his/her research /subject field.
Professor Rajni Kant is already a serving member of the Executive Council of Indian Crystallography Association for the last few years. He has been responsible for the creation of a DST-sponsored XRD National Research Facility in the Department of Physics which has created multiple collaborations of University of Jammu with various research institutions and universities of the country.
