JAMMU, Feb 12: Voicing his concern over the dragging of the security matters, especially the role of the forces in public controversy, the former Union Minister of State for Defence, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta said that the men in khaki are fighting a proxy war and that too in a complex situation in the of Kashmir valley.
Prof. Gupta in a statement said that it was the duty of every peace loving citizen to extend their helping hand to the forces in clearing the mess that was created by the wrongs of certain politicians and the hostile neighbor is out to exploit it.
Our forces are capable to meet any challenge but those who are raising accusing fingers under communal and other political considerations, should realize their own fate in the absence of the forces as they themselves are insecure without the cover of these guards., he added and observed that the jawans and officers are too our own people and that too have their rights.
As far as the AFSPA or PSA are concerned, Prof. Gupta said that all of these were enacted and applied to meet a situation created by the ultras who in fact are acting and operating under the command and control of agency which is the part and parcel of Pak Army.
Those who are supporting cross border terror, can neither be friends of peace and prosperity nor they are doing any good to Kashmir, he added.
