Procession taken out for strict action against drug mafia

JAMMU, July 16: To stress upon the State Government for taking strict action against the drugs mafia, a strong procession was taken out from Gurudwara, Digiana Ashram, Jammu to Satwari Chowk under the leadership of   Mahant Manjit Singh of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch.
Many political, social and religious personalities, including Raman Bhalla, Ch Lal Singh, Prof Garu Ram, Ex-MLA, S Sudershan Singh Wazir, Ranvijay Singh (grandson of Dr Karan Singh) and others took part in the procession.
All the speakers of various political leaders in one voice asked the State Governor N N Vohra to issue strict directions against the drug mafia and put them behind bars under PSA. The police should also be directed to arrest culprits of the drug peddling as well as its users and there should no leniency in this regard, they added and stressed that the
Police officials involved in this drug racket should be dismissed from service and put behind the bar.
The speakers warned that if no action is taken within one week, an agitation with the support of various organizations, including Bar Association, Chamber of Commerce and intellectuals of Jammu will be started.
The leaders of various Sikh organizations,  including Shiromani Akali Dal (J&K), Sikh United Front (J&K), Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Sewa Society (J&K), AISSF, Sikh Naujawan Sabha, Sikh Welfare Society, Members DGPC, Jammu, J&K Transport Association, members of Local Gurdwara Committees and many members of various social organizations took part in the procession.
They included  S  Mohinder Singh, Paramjit Singh,  Surinder Singh (Kala),  Gajan Singh, Surjeet Singh (Kuku), Ravinder Singh (Sarpanch),  Darbinder Singh,  Harjinder Singh Raina,  Raja Singh, Fateh Singh (Members DGPC Jammu), Harpreet Singh (Chotu), .Parveen Singh,  Paramjit Singh Raina, .Sukhdev Singh,  Rajinder Singh,  Tejpal Singh and Jagmohan Singh.
