JAMMU, July 18: Jammu Private Schools & ETT Institutes Association (Progressive) has demanded a probe to ascertain the role of the State universities and State Board of School Education in the ETT Institutes controversy and recent findings of the J&K High Court in a PIL proceeding in the case.
In a statement, the Association alleged that autonomous status of State Universities and JK School Board was deliberately eroded by the vested interests with the result needed monitoring of course was compromised. “After nine years of constant functioning by ETT institutes, it is quite joking on the part of Jammu University’s recent version that its affiliated B Ed colleges were running ETT course within same premises without NOC while on the other hand, JK BOSE authorities were influenced for untimely intakes in violation of norms,” the Association said.
The Association alleged that unwanted interference of concerned minister and administrative office created nuisance all the times as bulk number of ETT NOCs were issued by the Secretariat offices without any policy or planning. “Even after issuing of bulk ETT NOCs, School Education Minister was asked by his secretariat office to issue NOCs renewal order just for vested interest because institutions after getting NOC from the administrative department had to be monitored by affiliated agencies like BOSE and concerned University,” the Association explained.
“Surrendering of autonomous status by the State Universities and State School Education Board also need to be treated as offence and in that case, an independent time bound probe must be ordered by the State Government to fix the responsibilities and to suggest future precautions in the larger interest of State, its institutions and the stakeholders,” the Association urged.
