The third budget of the Narendra Modi Government has been appreciated for taking care of farmers and agriculture. It is designed to ‘transform’ the lives of the poor especially farmers whose incomes are to get doubled by 2022, as the Prime Minister announced on budget day.
Farmers community in the country is today a depressed and neglected lot. Their condition instead of improving is worsening day by day. As a result, the young generation does not opt for farming in the country. They prefer to go to cities for jobs. The migration from rural to urban centres creates problems for both the places.
In case budget is implemented with sincerity, the farmers will have a ray of hope for a bright future.
It is expected that it will stem the suicide rate among farmers community. There has been an increase in the suicides among farming community in the country.
