JAMMU, Nov 7:  The activists of  People’s Revolutionary Movement (PRM)  held a protest demonstration outside the office of  Director School Education at Muthi here today.
Led by Rajinder Jamwal,  president of the Movement, the activists and other office  bearers of the body, raised slogans against the authorities concerned and stressed for the cleansing of the department. They alleged that mass scale corruption, nepotism, favouritism galore in the School Education and there was strong need to  go for cleansing exercise in the department.  They said there was urgent need to go for major surgery from top to bottom as department  was under the cloud mal-practices.
They alleged that education standards have reached the lowest ebb and irregularities and inaction has become the order of the day.  There was no transparency in the department and the much needed revolutionary measures for  raising standard of education were nowhere in sight. Directorate has virtually been converted into `transfer industry’  and teaching community is being victimized deliberately just to make easy buck by the insiders in the directorate.
Mr Jamwal said that `political masters’ manning the affairs must shoulder the responsibility of upholding and   improving the principles, moral and traditional  values in academic activity of the directorate rather than to be  grappled in transfers and postings. He demanded transparency in transfers and postings, setting up of committee for improving standards of  education, regularize contingent workers  and accelerate the process of drop out cases  for promotion to the higher grade.
