REASI, Nov 7: District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Reasi, Dr Shahid Iqbal today convened a meeting of Assembly Level Master Trainers (ALMTs) and other officers to finalize training plan for run up to elections 2014 and smooth conduct of elections.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajinder Singh Tara and District Panchayat Officer Rohit Sharma formulated the design and course content.
A detailed training programme for all the officials in the district was chalked out beginning this month up to culmination of election process for parliamentary and state legislature elections next year. The DEO has also introduced compulsory test of trainees especially Booth Level Officers after every training session to ensure attentive participation. Grading of trainees will also be done apart from feedback on the course content. Designated officers have been appointed for evaluating the trainees so that last minute hassles during conduct of elections are avoided.
District administration has planned decentralised training programme for various categories of officials. Trainings will be conducted at district, sub-division tehsil, block and panchayat cluster level to ensure better grasp of basic technical requirements. Mock election at district and block level has been planned in the first instance for officials and general public in staged manner.
Additional Deputy Commissioner will hold special training programme for ALMTs for formal launching of the annual programme next week.
