Priya woos tourists of Punjab, Haryana

CHANDIGARH, Mar 2: Minister of State for Tourism, Priya Sethi, urged the stake holders and media from Haryana, Punjab and Union Territory of Chandigarh to promote the J&K Tourism in big way and said that J&K Government is working hard to ensure the stay of the tourists is comfortable and memorable.
While addressing a press conference organized here by the Federation of Registered Travel Associations of Jammu, the MoS said, “We have all modern infrastructure in place to cater the tourists for the products like pilgrimage, leisure, adventure, golf, MICE tourism, spiritual tourism, wellness tourism and Border tourism among other many. We are here to counter the negative perception about J&K and make strong relationship with neighbouring states”.
While replying to a media query, Sethi said that J&K State has the lowest crime rate and no crime has been reported against the tourists during the last calendar year as has been verified by National Bureau of Crime, hence making it the safest destination for tourists.
Priya added that in Jammu and Kashmir there is immense tourism potential and diverse products to offer to the tourists as it is a beautiful place blessed with natural beauty and divine touch and we want to see you in all parts of Jammu and Kashmir. She requested the Travel Trade fraternity of Haryana, Punjab and Union Territory of Chandigarh to coordinate with that of J&K thereby helping to tap the tourist potential to the optimum level.
Gracing the occasion were Vijay Vardhan, Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Haryana, Director Tourism, Haryana, Sameer Pal Srow and other representatives from travel trade fraternity.
Director, Tourism, Jammu, Smita Sethi gave a detailed presentation on tourism potential of J&K and apprised the audience of the different pilgrimage destinations, bewitching leisure destinations of Patnitop, Sonamarg, Gulmarg, Amar Mahal, Bahu Fort, Chingus Fort and Ramnagar Fort Art products such as Rafting at Reasi, Akhnoor and Chenab, Golfing at Sidhra and Border Tourism sites of Suchetgarh, Gharna Wetlands and Baba Chambalayal.
Earlier in the day, Travel Trade Associations of Jammu organized an impressive road show. SK Attri, Deputy Director, Tourism Jammu, Rupali Mahajan, Assistant Director, Tourism Jammu, Ashwani Gupta, DGM JKTDC, Rajesh Chandan, president AJTA, Jatinder Koul, president TAAJ, Inderpal Singh and other representatives from travel trade also attended the road show.
To make the occasion more vibrant and attractive, a live painting show by KK GANDHI, simultaneous with the road show was also held. Promotional Short Movie “Back to Roots”, Docu Drama on Bhimgarh, Basohli anthem and other promotional Videos on Bhaderwah and Patnitop were also played during the event.
