Private schools offer their campuses to be used as quarantine centres

JAMMU, Mar 23: Jammu and Kashmir Private Schools Coordination Committee has offered the Government use campuses of the private schools as quarantine centres keeping in view the present menace of Coronavirus.
A teleconference meeting of Executive Members of the Private Schools Coordination Committee was held today wherein the President of JKPSCC, Rameshwar Singh Manhas and Working President Dr Hari Dutt appealed to management of all private schools to follow the orders of Government in letter and spirit for safety and security of students.
JKPSCC offered the Government to use the schools infrastructure, manpower and other resources at this hour of crisis. In this regard, an email was sent to the Director School Education, Jammu; Commissioner Secretary School Education, J&K Govt and DC Jammu that if required, the schools’ building may be converted into Isolation / quarantine centres. “Moreover, the Government may use other resources of Private Schools in every possible manner for the betterment of the society,” offered JKPSCC and appealed to the schools to spread awareness about Coronavirus, social distancing, self hygiene and self quarantine among their students and their parents through their schools WhatsApp groups, bulk SMS services, websites etc.
The JKPSCC also appealed that schools must also verify all the information before forwarding it to the parents and must ensure that no fake information is spread in the society. At this hour of need, it is very important to uphold social responsibility and play a constructive role in fighting the deadly virus, said the appeal.
