Chrungoo asks people to cooperate with Govt in fighting Coronavirus

JAMMU, Mar 23: Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, senior BJP & Kashmiri Pandit leader expressed his appreciation regarding the measures taken by the Government in regard to the fight against the deadly virus COVID-19. He said that the way the people in India have responded to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s call on Sunday has created a new hope for the nation in its fight against the global crisis of Coronavirus.
Chrungoo in a statement appealed to the J&K Government to allow 4G services of the mobile network in the State as it will help the people to cope up with an unprecedented situation. It is appropriate time now to consider allowing the use of 4G, he added.
He said that it is important to understand the “Scheme of Stages” of Coronavirus so that one is not scared and afraid of the strict measures that the Government has been forced to take.
He said Stage 1 means where the person infected is known, quarantined and his or her medical care is on. Such cases are generally those who come from outside the country and are carrying the infection. In this stage, the source is known and the society is safe.
Stage 2 means where the infected person who came from outside did not take the instructions seriously and was responsible for spread of virus among a number of people who visited him or whom he visited. But in this case, the “main source” and the other affected ones are known and can be detected and quarantined and put under compulsory medical treatment wherever needed. In this stage, there is not a possibility of community spread in general, he added.
He said Stage 3 is the stage where the infected person has not followed the instructions at all, has mingled in the society, has not quarantined and has been responsible for spread of the virus widely and wildly. Such a person will be known to the community only when they develop the symptoms of the virus disease.
The beginning of Stage 3 enforces the community and Government to take stringent measures to detect and segregate the infected persons. It is for this reason that lockdown, curfew and stay-home regime for 14 days is adopted as the only viable measure to deal with the situation.
Chrungoo said that by making the homestay for two weeks a compulsory measure for detecting the infected persons.
In case the community is able to make self-quarantine, home stay and continuous lockdown for two weeks a practical possibility, there are bright chances to reduce the spread of virus to a minimal level (which will be easily manageable for the administration).
“Hence, our complete endeavour should be to support the Government’s decisions and moves in this regard, he added.
