JAMMU, June 16: Pritam Nagar locality of Paloura, falling in Ward No. 38 of the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) is facing acute water shortage.
The residents alleged that such is the critical position of the water supply that they are receiving tap water only once after 5-6 days. They alleged that the supply position deteriorated during last week of May. They approached the concerned Corporator, Surinder Sharma and even the Mayor of the JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta but they have failed to provide any relief to the residents of the locaility.
The locals alleged that even they approached the concerned field staff of the PHE Deptt but they often claim that there is no adequate water in the supply tanks. The residents of the locality are forced to purchase water through private tankers while department is issuing fatty water bills to the public. Even the PHE/ Jal Shakti department failed to provide alternate supply through their own water tankers. The condition has turned more worst after taking control of PHE City and Gandhinagar PHE Divisions by the JMC, they alleged.
