JAMMU, Oct 15: A prisoner of Ambphalla Jail today died under mysterious circumstances.
According to a police spokesman, a murder accused identified as Lochan Ram (80) son of Sant Ram, resident of Lamberi (district Rajouri) who was presently putting up at Ambphalla Jail was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, last night after his condition deteriorated suddenly.
“However, the prisoner passed away today at about 2.20 pm”, the spokesman said, adding body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for postmortem. “A case under 174 CrPC has been registered in this connection at concerned police station”, he further added.
