Prices of pulses move up during the week

CHENNAI, Aug 17:  Prices of urad dal, thoor dal, moong dal, gram dal and wheat went up while other commodities remained unchanged from their previous rates during the week under review today.
On Wednesday urad dal firmed up by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 5,700 and ended at the same rate today from its previous rate of Rs 5,500.
Thoor dal moved up by Rs 100 per quintal on Wednesday to Rs 7,000 from Rs 6,900 and held at the same rate until today.
Moong dal opened the week at Rs 7,000 per qunital shedding Rs 400 and recovered by Rs 500 on Wednesday to Rs 7,500 from its last week’s rate of Rs 7,400.
Similarly, gram dal edged down by Rs 50 per quintal on Monday to Rs 3,700 and later regained by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 3,800.
Wheat rose by Rs 100 per quintal on Monday to Rs 2,300 from Rs 2,200 and closed at the same rate today.
Sugar Rs 3,200, maida (90 kg) Rs 2,400 and sooji Rs 2,500 were taken at their previous week’s closing rates. (PTI)
