NEW DELHI, Dec 3: President Droupadi Murmu today commended Padma Shri awardee Javed Ahmed Tak from Bijbehara, Anantnag, for his remarkable contributions to education and the well-being of the children with the special needs.
On the International Day for Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), President Murmu conferred National Awards to 30 individuals and institutions, recognizing their efforts in empowering Divyangjans.
She highlighted Tak’s inspiring dedication, teaching a profound message to differently-abled children despite surviving a terrorist attack in 1997, which left him in a wheelchair.
Murmu praised Tak’s mantra: “Be A Part, Not Apart.” Awarded the Padma Shri in 2020 for his social work, Javed Ahmed Tak, who runs Humanity Welfare Organisation Helpline, continues to exemplify resilience and compassion.
