Press Club organizes free dental check-up camp for journalists

JAMMU, Oct 6: Taking yet another initiative for the journalistic fraternity, Press Club of Jammu today organized a free dental check-up camp for the Club members.
A large number of  journalists and also staff members of PCJ, along with  their families turned up to attend the camp where team of eminent dentists,  led by Dr Rohin Gupta of Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission,  examined them.
The team of doctors included Dr A P Singh, Dr Sahil Nagpal, Dr Ankita Sharma, Dr Anoop Raina and Dr Kritika. This was  the first such camp organized by the PCJ for the journalists. Oral care company Colgate and pharmaceutical  Cipla provided free dental kits and medicines during the camp.
Dr Rohin Gupta said that the modern eating habits are one of the biggest reasons for dental problems. “If we regularly visit our dentist and follow good eating habits we can avoid oral problems. But in modern hectic life we are least bothered about our oral care and that contributes to our oral problems”, he added.
Dr Ajit Pal Singh explained in detail the procedure and techniques of oral care. He briefed the gathering about techniques of brushing. “We need to brush twice a day – after breakfast and after dinner for better dental care”, added Dr Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashwani Kumar, president PCJ, said that the Club has decided to organize similar types of camps in the PCJ premises so that journalists, who could not spare time from their busy schedule, may be provided opportunity to get medical facilities during their working hours.
Treasurer PCJ,  Dinesh Manhotra presented vote of thanks while the Executive Committee Members Ajay Bachloo, Deepak Khajuria, Nishikant Khajuria, Pawan Sharma, Dinesh Mahajan, Vishal Bharti and Surjeet Singh were also present on the occasion.
