Ending suspense over the escalating crisis in Uttarakhand, President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday agreed to impose President’s Rule in the state.

President Mukherjee signed the proclamation declaring President’s Rule in the state under Article 356 of the Constitution today morning after Finance Minister Arun Jaitely briefed him on the “constitutional breakdown” in the state. The state assembly has been kept under suspended animation. (Agencies)
