Premature retirement case

JAMMU, May 25: In the contempt petitions relating to premature retirement case, High Court today issued bailable warrants against Commissioner/Secretary GAD to the tune of Rs 10,000.
The warrants have been issued in seven contempt petitions filed by Prem Nath, the then Chief Engineer PHE and others. The High Court vide order dated April 7, 2017 had directed that in case the respondents are unable to produce any order from the Division Bench, Khurshid Ahmed, Commissioner /Secretary to General Administration Department shall remain present on 20.04.2017.
However, on 29.04.2017, the matter was adjourned at the request of Seema Shekhar, Senior AAG. “Till today neither the respondents have filed compliance report nor have produced copy of any order passed by the Division Bench”, Justice Alok Aradhe said.
“In these circumstances this court is left with no option but to issue bailable warrants in the amount of Rs 10,000 for securing the presence of Khurshid Ahmed Shah, Commissioner /Secretary, General Administration Department on the next date of hearing”, Justice Aradhe said and directed that the warrants shall be executed through SSP concerned.
