JAMMU, Oct 11: A Pre-Lok Adalat Sessions for MACT cases pending before High Court Wing Srinagar and High Court Wing Jammu were organized by R N Watal, Secretary High Court Legal Services Committee under the chairmanship of Justice Virender Singh, Executive Chairman J&K State Legal Services Authority.
At Srinagar Single Bench was constituted comprising of Aijaz Ahmad Mir, Registrar Judicial High Court Wing Srinagar and Ashok Kumar Shavan, Presiding Officer MACT Srinagar. At Jammu, 5 Benches were constituted comprising of Kartar Singh, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Jammu, Akram Choudhary, Presiding Officer, MACT, Jammu, Sanjeev Gupta, 3rd Additional District & Sessions Judge (TADA) Court, Jammu, Sanjay Parihar, Additional District & Sessions Judge (Anticorruption), Jammu and M S Parihar, President, Consumer Forum, Jammu.
The Pre-Lok Adalat Sessions were attended by litigants, advocates, the representatives of National Insurance Company, New India Assurance Company and United India Insurance Company. The Pre-Lok Adalat Sessions were held in anticipation of National Lok Adalat scheduled to be held on November 23.
