JAMMU, Nov 6: There was merriment near mosques in the City of Temples and members of Muslim community offered prayers as it was the Friday following Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi.
Mosques across Jammu were beautifully decorated and there were stalls outside for Islamic books, caps, rosaries, eatables etc.
The authorities have made all the necessary facilities for the devotees and the mosques too had put in place special arrangements like social distancing etc in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
“Routine prayers were offered in mosques today like other Fridays. This was the first Friday following Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi which is celebrated as the birthday of Prophet Mohammad,” Imam Jamia Masjid Talab Khatikan, Mufti Inayat Ullah said.
Tariq Janjua, who lives near Jammu University said due to COVID-19 pandemic he preferred to offer prayers at home as a safety measure.
Gujjar leader, Sobat Ali said the day is like other Fridays and they offer prayers for peace and well being of the world.
