JAMMU, Jan 22: Director General of Police (DGP), Ashok Prasad, chaired a high level meeting at PCR here today to review security arrangements for Republic Day celebration, in which senior officers of CRPF, BSF, Police and Civil Administration participated.
During the meeting, Mr. Prasad took stock of security arrangements being put in place at different venues for smooth and peaceful conduct of Republic Day celebration across the State.
On the occasion, State and Central intelligence agencies gave detailed briefing about the steps taken for making the event a great success.
The ADGP Security, IGP Jammu Zone and IGP Traffic also briefed the meeting about the security and other allied arrangements for the national celebration which included intensified and extensive anti-militancy and search operations, enhanced and surprise checking, identification of parking slots and effective coordination on ground level between various agencies.
Mr. Prasad emphasised implementation of decisions taken in the meeting on ground level in a coordinated and responsible manner to enhance vigil, security besides facilitating smooth and convenient passage of common people to witness Republic Day celebrations. He instructed officers to mount adequate surveillance over anti-national elements and areas which are vulnerable to the threat.
The meeting was attended among others by the ADGP (Security), Dr. Ram Lubhaya, IGPs, Dilbag Singh, Dr. B Srinivas, Muneer Ahmed Khan, G. J. Singh, IG, CRPF, DIG IRP Jammu, DIG AP Jammu and DIG JKS Range and other police officers.
