Prabhu, Mehrishi meet Vohra

SRINAGAR, June 29:  Union Minister for Railways, Suresh Prabhu today met Governor N N  Vohra at the Raj Bhavan.
Prabhu, who had just arrived from Leh after launching the Leh-Manali Rail Link, apprised Governor about the Railways future plans to augment rail network in J&K. The Governor emphasised the importance of the Katra-Banihal Rail section being completed without any further delay.
He observed that once the entire Jammu-Baramulla rail system was fully operational, J&K would be directly linked with the whole country throughout the year and this connectivity would boost tourism, generate employment and buttress national security concerns.
Meanwhile, Union Home Secretary, Rajiv Mehrishi also called on Governor N N  Vohra today.
The Governor and the Home Secretary discussed the obtaining security environment and issues in regard to which effective enforcement and implementation are required, particularly keeping in view the continuing attempts at infiltration, cease-fire violations and recurring incidents aimed to cause unrest.
Mehrishi, who had visited the Shri Amarnathji Shrine earlier in the day informed the Governor about the security arrangements in force observed by him.
Meanwhile, Mehrishi also called on Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti here today.
During the meeting, the Union Home Secretary discussed with the Chief Minister several issues related to the overall situation in the State.
