JAMMU, May 30: Provincial Power Employees Union today called upon the Chief Engineer JPDCL here in Jammu under the leadership of Shakti Gupta and Ajaz Kazmi general secretary, Sanjeev Bali and Manjeet Singh and expressed strong resentment over the suspension of technical staff belonging to Class-III and Class-IV categories for shortfall of revenue .
The members strongly earlier protested at all Sub Divisional offices of Green Belt, Canal, Janipur, Shastri Nagar and adjoining areas. It is pertinent to mention that people are right now in grip of fear and tension and do not allow outsiders even relatives to visit homes. The PDD employees are working on front line maintaining the essential power supply 24X 7 to all the Hospitals, Quarintine centers and even public at large has not faced any issues of electricity interruptions on account of the extra vigil maintained by the dedicated field staff of PDD.
The members gave an ultimatum of 72 hours to the PDD administration to revoke the suspension of lower rung employees who have being performing their duties deligently and holding them responsible for shortfall of revenue and suspending them at this hour of crisis of COVID-19 has dented the morale of the employees. The employees shall be suspending restoration works from June 2, 2020 if the management doesn’t reinstate the affected employees.
