KATHUA, June 18: A meeting of the district unit of Provincial Power Employees Union (PPEU) was held here today under the chairmanship of provincial chairman, Shakti Gupta, where the speakers highlighted the demands of the employees.
The meeting demanded to regularize daily wagers and need based workers of the PDD in the district, who have been on strike for last seven days.
The others demands highlighted by the meeting included promotion benefits to ITI Electrical holders who were appointed 17 years back through SSRB, reorganization of PDD, creation of post of Chief Foreman or Shift Engineer, return back of PDC employees of Executive Cadre right from class IV to Tech-I working in M&RE and STD-III Kathua to their original place of postings, convening of district level DPC through SE, M&RE Circle Kathua regarding Class IV employees, etc.
