JAMMU, Feb 20: On the second day of the three day 19th Inter CPSU Volleyball Tournament 2015, POWERGRID and BBMB outclassed their opponents to storm into the finals of this prestigious Tournament.
In the semifinals POWERGRID trounced THDC by (27-25,25-19, 25-19) wheras BBMB got better of SJVNL by (25-13, 25-15, 25-11) in the semis.
The Tournament being played at Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports,Patiala witnessed a huge audience today.
Volleyball players from all the participating teams including Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (POWERGRID), Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry of Power (MOP), Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), National Hydro Electric Power Corporation Limited (NHPC), Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), Tehri Hydro Development Corporation Limited (THDC) and Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVNL) displayed thier skills and talent during their respective matches. Particularly performances of Harjit Singh and Shashi Pal of BBMB, Jitender Kumar of SJVNL, T.S.Negi of THDC and Varun,Vinay and Pankaj Choudhary of POWERGRID was appreciated by one and all. All the matches were keenly contested.
Earler, in the league stage, POWERGRID topped Pool A by winning all its league matches and simlarly BBMB tooped Pool B. SJVNL was runness-up in Pool A and THDC in Pool B.
The final of the Tournament which is scheduled to be held tommorrow is expected to be a high voltage match.
