JAMMU, Jan 7: M Raju, Secretary Power Development Department called on the Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Raju discussed with the Lt Governor wide ranging issues related to power sector including revenue realization, speedy constitution of Board of Directors for newly established corporations, yearly regularization of Engineers and their Assured Career Progression.
The Lt Governor directed the Secretary, PDD for ensuring uninterrupted power supply during the winter season, especially in snow bound areas to avoid any in-convenience to the public.
He further directed him for ensuring proper implementation of various power projects under Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) and Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS). A delegation of Joint Action Committee of Graduate Engineers Associations also called on the Lieutenant Governor.
The delegation led by its President Er. Farooq Ahmad, comprising of Harvinder Singh, Firdous Ahad Bhat, Gandeep Pargal and Mujeeb Tak put forth various issues and demands related to Assured Career Progression (ACP), regularization of all in-charge Engineers placement on one time basis to address adhocism, Cadre Review and expansion as per the present establishment in all Engineering departments, filling up of vacant posts at all levels in all departments and implementation of SRO 42 of 2011.
The delegation also requested the Lt Governor for creation of the post of Development Commissioner, Hydraulics, declaration of all engineering services as essential services and notification of transfer policy.
The Lt Governor gave a patient hearing to the issues projected by the delegation and assured them to review all their genuine concerns for their early redressal.
