JAMMU, May 10: As a part of its Swachh Bharat Pakhwada celebrations, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Northern Region-II, Jammu organized a debate competition at its Regional Headquarters here.
The topic of the competition was “Can we achieve mission of Clean India by 2019?”, in which 12 renowned schools across Jammu participated and spoke for or against the motion.
Anil Jain, Executive Director, Power Grid Northern Region-II was the chief guest on the occasion.
The programme started with welcome address by R Naryan, Chief Manager (HR) who also gave a brief account of activities of Power Grid and its role in nation building.
Anil Jain called upon the children to ensure that cleanliness becomes our motto to bring about the desired change in our country. He stressed on the fact that though winning in such competitions is important but most important is participation as participation in such events instills confidence which helps the growing buds in their future.
In the competition, the best speaker award was presented to Manaswini Oswal of Jodhamal Public School, Ridhima Raina of KC International, Aayushree Sheikhar of BSF Senior Secondary School and Harsimar Kaur of Jodhamal Public School.
In the end, vote of thanks was presented by Raman, Manager (HR) Power Grid, Jammu
