JAMMU, Feb 13: J&K Electrical Engineering Graduates Association in a meeting today held under the chairmanship of Ramnik Singh its general secretary strongly condemned the manner in which AEE Hiranagar was attached without ascertaining the facts and figures.
The Association said that the dictatorial manner in which the AEE Hiranagar was attached deserves condemnation. They said that the Hiranagar Sub Division has achieved revenue realization target ending January 2013 to the tune of 102 percent against domestic, 115 percent against commercial, 75 percent against Central Departments and 90 percent against industry, leaving PHE at 16 percent and other State Departments at 5 percent. These two categories involve transfer from Government to Government and the Sub Division has no control on this, the Association in a statement said.
The Association said if these figures warn attachment, then probably all engineers deserve the same reward. The power engineers are working round the clock in maintaining the power supply, revenue realization, conducting inspections at risk of their lives and without any adequate facilities from the Government day by day, it added.
It said an enormous pressure is being mounted on the engineers by way of increasing illogical and irrational revenue targets at fag end of the financial year and it seems the authorities are hell bent to prove the power engineers as failures.
The meeting warned that if the attachment order of AEE is not revoked within two days the power engineers will be left with no other option but to go on mass casual leave from February 16 onwards and the onus of poor revenue realization will be on Government only.
