JAMMU, Feb 13: The two day religious function in connection with Tick Chouram (Tripur Chouram) celebrated to please Goddess Tripur Sundari started at KP Sabha here today with solemnization of a Maha Yagya.
A large number of devotees of Mata Tripur Sundri thronged the KP Sabha to participate in the night long celebrations and bhajan Kirtan in praise of Mata who is the presiding deity of a section of Kashmiri Pandit community.
This is for the first time after the mass exodus that a function is being held in connection with celebration of Tick Chouram, said H N Tiku advisor KP Sabha. He said all members of Tiku, Munshis and Miskeens whose Goddess Tripur Sundri is presiding deity are jointly coordinating in the celebrations.
The function will conclude tomorrow afternoon with Puranahuti which will be followed by disbursing of prashad.
