JAMMU, Nov 20: Employees of Power Development Department (PDD) held protest demonstration at M&RE Division-I Parade Ground here today.
The employees under the banner of Provincial Power Employees Union assembled at the Division office here and held demonstration in support of their demand. While addressing the workers, Shakti Gupta chairman of the PPEU condemned the attitude of higher authorities for harassing the employees asking minimum load of the consumers without inspecting the meter without any written order. He said the inspection team led by Executive Engineer Bashir Ahmed only inspects installations of Jammu people. The Secretariat was in Srinagar for six months and no such activity took place there. He warned the PDD authorities to stop the harassment of Jammu employees.
Prominent among those leading protest against higher authorities included Rajan Babu, Sunil Kochar, S Bali and Ajaz Kazmi.
