Power employees highlight demands

JAMMU, Aug 3: All J&K Power Employees Coordination Committee (JKPECC) today highlighted the demands of the employees in its meeting held at 33/11 KV Receiving Station, Phinter (Billawar) under the chairmanship of JS Rathore, vice chairman of the committee.
The meeting strongly condemned the callous attitude of the administration towards the engineers and employees, and expressed its resentment over the dilly dallying tactics in resolving the genuine demands of employees and engineers of the department.
While speaking on the occasion, Rathore said though the committee has submitted a number of memorandums to the Principal Secretary, PDD and Development Commissioner, Power but nothing has been achieved so far.
Rathore made an appeal to the Government to redress the genuine demands of Power employees and engineers like regularization/confirmation of gazetted and non-gazetted  power employees, implementation of SRO 59 in toto in Jammu region at par with Kashmir region, registration of FIR only after conducting preliminary enquiry in case of electrical accidents, release of Rs 3 lakh to Power employees as initial ex- gratia compensation in case of electrical accidents, field travelling allowance for Junior Engineers and field staff @ Rs 3000 per month, clear cut policy in case of Power employees deputed to other departments, asset based management and amendment of SRO 64 of 1994 for regularization of daily wagers in PDD.
Others who attended the meeting were Vir Singh (president, Billawar unit), Markanday, Joginder Singh, Pritam Chand, Chuni Lal, Jia Lal, Amir Chand, Bhola Bath, Beeru Ram, Karpal Singh and Deep Kumar.
