Power crisis

Sir,
This has reference to protest by opposition parties in the Legislative Assembly over shortage of electricity in the State.
The State shall continue to face power outages till the time, a comprehensive policy for electricity is framed by the Government. Though some reforms have been taken to improve the power situation in the State, much more needs to be done. It will require political will to do so. The successive Governments have not shown the same for one reason or other. With the result, the State has to shell out a hefty sum to purchase electricity to meet the requirement. Even after spending so much money, no tangible improvement in power situation is visible. Though urban centres get a good percentage of electricity, rural areas are left to fend for themselves. It takes at least one or two weeks to get a transformer repaired or replaced in a village that too after villagers pursue the matter vigorously.
The Government has to take harsh steps in this matter, and only then it is possible that power crisis can be overcome.
Yours etc….
